Teaching Philosophy:
- Everyone can learn Chinese well with appropriate learning strategies, determination, and perseverance.
- "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. "
- “授之以鱼不如授之以渔”
This ancient Chinese proverb has a similar iteration as its English counterpart “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for life.” To master a new language and culture takes more than just time in a classroom. Successful language learners possess the ability for self-guided study. Thus, my fundamental principle in teaching Chinese to beginners is to help them build a solid foundation and grasp learning strategies so that they can continue learning the language by themselves.
